    This programme has acquired accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA); this opens the opportunity for the graduates of the programme to either further their studies in various Bachelor’s degree programmes offered in UNIMAS, or in other public and private universities that recognise the MQA accreditation.

Course Synopsis

Biology
This course covers a range of major disciplines in biology, which will be covered throughout two semesters of the academic year. This includes the basic concepts and characteristics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic, genetics, reproduction and growth in animals and plants, immunology, evolution, and biodiversity. An active learning environment through continuous involvement of students is encouraged, and basic principles and theories of biology will be provided to help students in learning the fundamental knowledge related to life science.

(i) Malaysian Citizen

Applicants must be a MyKad holder and passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination with a minimum of FIVE (5) credits including in the Bahasa Melayu paper, and passed the History paper. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) may be considered.

 

(ii) Non-Malaysian Citizen

Applications from non-Malaysians are subject to the University’s academic entry requirements, as stipulated in the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) entry requirements for O-Level or equivalent qualifications.

MODULE A: LIFE SCIENCE

  • Programme Code: W0030A
  • Duration of Study: 2 Semesters

Obtained at least grade C in the following papers:

  • Biology
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • English

AND

Obtained at least grade C in ONE (1) of the STEM, Pengajian Islam, or Kemanusiaan dan Sastera elective papers.

Non-Malaysian applicants must obtain at least grade C in ONE (1) other STEM paper.

AND

Passed the Additional Mathematics paper.

AND

Does not have any physical disability or learning difficulty that may hinder practical learning activities.

  • Duration of Study: 2 Semesters

Obtained at least grade C in the following papers:

  • Physics
  • Additional Mathematics
  • Mathematics

Obtained at least grade C in ONE (1) of the STEM, Pengajian Islam, or Kemanusiaan dan Sastera elective papers.

Non-Malaysian applicants must obtain at least grade C in ONE (1) other STEM paper.

AND

Does not have any physical disability or learning difficulty that may hinder practical learning activities.
